Our Adoption Timeline

12/8/13: First talked about adoption
1/13/14: Met with our pastor
1/25/14: Told our parents
1/27/14: Met with the Somers family
1/31/14: Applied to adopt through America World Adoption Agency
2/10/14: Accepted by America World
2/10/14: Met with the Frank family
2/21/14: Received a call from our family coordinator & social worker to officially begin our "paper chase."
2/28/14: Megan got her passport
3/11/14: Physical Exams
3/13/14: Back to the doctor to complete forms
3/17/14: Received Birth & Marriage Certificates
3/20/14: Ate Ethiopian food for the first time!
3/31/14: Orientation meeting with our social worker for our Home Study
4/10/14: Went to be fingerprinted for our Home Study
4/16/14: Started working on our 1st fundraiser!
4/18/14: Ryan got his passport
5/2/14: Received our fingerprints back from the SBI
5/13/14: Submitted our Home Study packet!
6/7/14: Had our 1st Yard Sale Fundraiser!
6/10/14: Home inspection for our Home Study
6/24/14: Joint interview for our Home Study
7/1/14: Single interviews for our Home Study
8/15/14: Received our approved Home Study in the mail
8/21/14: Sent our 1-600A Application to the USCIS
9/20/14: Yard Sale Adoption Fundraiser #2
9/22/14: Fingerprinting Appointment at USCIS
10/11/14: Received I-171H back for our Dossier
10/15/14: Sent documents to get State Certified
10/29/14: Sent completed Dossier to AWAA!
11/14/14: DTE DATE!!! Officially on the waiting list!
12/15/14: Began praying about the children in the India program.
1/13/15: Officially decided to move to the India Program!
3/23/15: Met with Social worker for Home Study update
4/21/15: Home Study Update Complete for India
5/7/15: Home Study registered with CARA in India
5/28/15: Background checks for USCIS
6/1/15: Sent papers to USCIS for approval
6/18/15: Adoption Fundrasier feat. Jamberry Nails
6/18:15: APPROVED BY CARA! *Can now officially accept a referral*
7/1/15: USCIS fingerprint appt. 7/24/15: RECEIVED OUR REFERRAL!
7/27/15: Accepted the referral for our daughter!
10/16/15: Received official referral documents
10/29/15: Sent completed dossier to AWAA!
11/19/15: Dossier made it to India
11/25/15: Sent our I-800 application to USCIS
12/28/15: Sent in our DS-260 (visa application) for K
1/14/16: Received Article 5 for K
3/11/16: Received our NOC (no objection certificate) from India
5/2/16: Received our court date in India (set for 7/11/16)
5/6/16: Our VISAS came!
7/5/16: Photo Book arrived at the orphanage
7/11/16: 1st court hearing in India
9/3/16: 2nd hearing scheduled
10/5/16: 3rd hearing scheduled
11/11/16: 4th hearing scheduled
12/10/16: 5th hearing scheduled (was not held)
1/20/17: 6th hearing scheduled (in a new court)
1/25/17: 7th (2nd in new court) hearing scheduled
1/28/17: Judge requested that K appear in court
2/6/17: PASSED COURT (verbal approval)!!!!!!!
2/15/17: Written court orders received (written approval)
3/24/17: Passport received for K
4/3/17: Left for India
4/4/17: Arrived in Delhi, India
4/5/17: Flew to Lucknow, UP, India (K's home)
4/6/17: Our "Gotcha" Day
4/7/17: Flew back to Delhi with K
4/8/17: Medical Appt. & Applied for exit permit
4/9/17: Day trip to Taj Mahal
4/10/17: Applied & Received K's visa
4/11/17: FRRO appt.
4/12/17: Back to FRRO & to CARA to pick up docs
4/13/17: Said goodbye to India & headed home!
4/14/17: Arrived to the USA w/ our girl!
